While damping devices can provide supplemental to mitigate building vibration due wind or earthquake effects, integrating them into the design is more complex. For example, Canadian code does not designs with inline friction dampers. The objective of this present article was study overstrength, ductility, and response modification factors concrete frame buildings dampers in context. that purpose, a set four-, eight-, fourteen-story ductile frames seismic dampers, designed based on 2015 National Building Code Canada (NBCC), considered. analyses included pushover analysis determining characteristics dynamic history using twenty-five ground motion records assess performance equipped methodology considered diagonal braces, including different 6 m 8 span lengths. discussion covers prescribed values for factors, as well assessment buildings. results revealed increasing height structure reducing length increases factors.
